Montgomery and Polk Counties are home to small rural communities west of Hot Springs, Arkansas. This area is well known for the majestic scenery of the Ouachita Mountains as well as outdoor recreation such as boating, hiking, cycling, hunting and fishing. But those of us who live here know something else. We know there is a darker side, an epidemic of alcohol and drug addiction that leaves devastation in its wake. And we know there has been very little help, very few resources or solutions provided to address this devastation. 

A 2019 study by Millennium Health ranked Arkansas number one in the nation in methamphetamine use. Our observations suggest Polk and Montgomery Counties are among the worst in the state. In addition to the enormous methamphetamine problem, opioid and fentanyl addictions are also rapidly advancing. 

We have a solution for the problem we face. It's a Christ-centered approach to helping women find their true worth and value in who God created them to be and to be transformed by His power. We know if women find hope in Jesus, they will seek to honor Him with their lives and become law abiding citizens who care about others, take care of themselves, work hard and contribute to their community. It is for all these reasons and more that Masterpiece Ministries of Arkansas was founded in June of 2020 to combat these horrendous problems.
